Parrot Ring: A Fusion of Geometry and Nature

Designed by Gulsah Surel Erdem, Winner of the Silver A' Jewelry Design Award

Derived from the Megaron Collection, the Parrot Ring is inspired by the first historic human dwelling's layout, emphasizing graphical angles and straight lines. The simplicity of the design and the perfect craftsmanship hidden in the details make each piece from this collection a modern representation of a form dating back thousands of years.

The Parrot Ring stands out with its unique properties. Gulsah Surel Erdem designed it by finding the geometry of forms in life, a characteristic feature of all House of DIV designs. The ring is completely hand-crafted and hand-painted with enamel, making it a unique piece of jewelry.

The creation of the Parrot Ring involved a geometrically designed parrot motif and a 3D model. The ring, made with 925 Sterling Silver and 14K Gold plated, was enameled by local female artisans. The designer worked with the first wax prototype to ensure the ring's ergonomic design.

The design process commenced in April 2017 in Istanbul and concluded in July 2017. The Parrot Ring was exhibited in Premiere Classe Paris in January 2018. The design research involved interpreting geometrically affected forms, leading to the creation of the Jungle Collection, which includes forms of roses, leaves, and parrots.

The main challenge in designing the Parrot Ring was to create a piece of jewelry with geometric lines that could also be colorful and fun. The result is a unique ring that has become a charm symbol for many due to the unique source of inspiration behind each collection.

The Parrot Ring was awarded Silver in the A' Jewelry, Eyewear, and Watch Design Award in 2018. This prestigious award is given to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that demonstrate outstanding expertise and innovation. These designs, admired for their strong technical characteristics and splendid artistic skill, showcase a remarkable level of excellence and introduce positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.
